Family Discipleship

I could make the argument that this is the most important part of discipleship. All of your hard work, diligent study, and the lessons learned under godly leadership culminate in what you do within the walls of your own home.It can be daunting to know where to begin when discipling your family, especially since every household is unique. While the biblical model calls for the father to take the lead, we recognize that many families are in different seasons—some are led by single parents, and others are navigating the complexities of blended families. Because there is no 'one-size-fits-all' solution, we will explore core principles that can be implemented regardless of your specific situation. The first general principle is this: Disciple your family every day. Consistency is imperative. Though it may feel difficult at first, daily practice creates a way of life. Once discipleship becomes a habit, it grows more natural. I recommend starting simply: read the Scriptures aloud together and explain them in a way your family can understand." That is what I have done 90% of the time with my family. The more you read and explain the better you will become. I recommend taking a look at the section on this website called "How to Study the Bible."

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.

I would also recommend looking at the sections on this website called: Personal Discipleship, D1, and D2. These will help you fine tune what you are teaching your family.
